Kneeling in the mud to live, standing on the cloud to write poems
-- Five Modern Poems by Mu Weining
1. My Alias is Qinchuan
Most of the calendar pages have been torn off
Midsummer has become yesterday
How I wish to pull back the white steed of time
And return me to my youth
The alias of yearning
Is autumn maple
My alias
Is Qinchuan
If there is an afterlife
I would like to be a pine or cypress
Evergreen throughout the four seasons
In the green and jade-like Zhongnan Mountains
2. The Village Has Thinned
What was taken away by years
Besides a row of big poplar trees in front of the door in childhood
There were also some old people of the grandparents' generation who watched me grow up
The streets and country paths remain the same
I don't know if I'm getting old or the village has thinned
Every time I go home, there is a sense of emptiness and loneliness
I'm clearly the daughter of this yellow land
I love the mountains here
Love the water here
But walking and walking, I became a leaf
3. What My Parents Planted Was Not Land
The early corn was not satisfactory
Fortunately, the late corn was plump and black
After mother finished saying with a smile all over her face
Father also raised the corners of his mouth after hearing it
It turns out that what my parents planted was not land
It was spiritual sustenance
And hope
4. The Soil for Growth
Thank you
For all the violent winds and heavy rains that have passed through my life
No, those weren't violent winds
Nor heavy rains
They were the soil for growth
5. Wheat
The mountain is silent
Never affecting its height
The sea is silent
Never affecting its depth
Then learn to be a person like wheat
The more mature
The more one learns to bow the head
